How to get your Strava activities into Forta
Forta reads workouts from Apple Health on your iPhone, and Strava can send your activities there. In Strava, open the You tab, tap the settings icon, then Manage Apps and Devices and Health, connect Apple Health and turn on Send to Health. Strava sends each activity’s type, distance, time, calories and route. The route only comes through for activities recorded in Strava: for one recorded with another company’s app, such as Garmin or Zwift, it doesn’t.

Turn on Send to Health in Strava
- 1In the Strava app, open the You tab and tap the settings icon in the upper corner.
- 2Tap Manage Apps and Devices, then Health, then the plus icon, then Connect.
- 3On the Health Access page, turn on Workouts and Workout Routes (Strava calls them Workouts & Routes), and any other data types you want Strava to read or write.
- 4Back in Manage Apps and Devices, Health, turn on Send to Health.
- 5Open Forta. Your Strava activities are in the Workouts list.
What reaches Apple Health
| Data | Reaches Apple Health | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Workouts | Yes | Activity type, distance, time and calories. |
| Heart rate | No | Not on Strava’s list. |
| Route map | Partly | For activities recorded in Strava. Not for activities from another company’s app, such as Garmin or Zwift. |
| Daily steps | No | Strava sends activities only. |
| Active energy | Per activity | The calories of each activity. |
| Exercise minutes | No | Not on Strava’s list. |
How long syncing takes
Strava sends your activities to Apple Health automatically once Send to Health is on. If one hasn’t arrived, Strava’s fix is to force close the Health app, then open Strava and pull down on your You feed.
Known gaps
- Heart rate isn’t among the data Strava sends.
- Routes of activities recorded with another company’s app, such as Garmin or Zwift, stay in Strava, so Forta can’t draw them.
- Strava sends activities, not your daily steps.
Troubleshooting
- Activity not in Apple Health? Force close the Health app, then open Strava and pull down on your You feed.
- Check what Strava may write: in the Health app, tap your profile picture in the upper corner, then, under Privacy, tap Apps and Strava, and turn on Workouts and Workout Routes.
- The same workout twice? If Strava and your watch’s own app both send your workouts to Apple Health, each one arrives twice, and Forta lists both. Keep workout sharing on in one of them.
- Still not in Forta? Pull down on Forta’s Workouts list to refresh it. If the workout is in Apple Health but not in Forta, check that Forta may read workouts: in the Health app, tap your profile picture in the upper corner, then, under Privacy, tap Apps and Forta, and turn on Workouts.
