How to get your Oura workouts into Forta

Forta reads workouts from Apple Health on your iPhone, and the Oura app can send your Oura data there. In Oura, open the menu at the top left, tap Settings, then Apple Health under Data sharing, and turn on Connect to Health. Oura sends your workouts with their routes, plus heart rate, steps and active energy, so they show up in Forta. It needs an Oura Ring Gen2, or a Gen3 or later with an active membership.

How long syncing takes

Oura says Apple Health updates appear after you complete an activity or workout. Oura’s troubleshooting tips also ask you to open the Oura app at least once a day, keep Background App Refresh on, and keep Low Power Mode off.

Known gaps

  • Apple Health sharing needs Gen2, or Gen3 or later with an active Oura membership.
  • Steps from Oura and from your iPhone or another device can add up twice. See the fix below.

Troubleshooting

  • Reset the connection: in Oura, open the menu, tap Settings, scroll to Data sharing, tap Apple Health, turn the switches off and on again, then restart your iPhone.
  • Check what Oura may share: in the Health app, tap your profile picture in the upper corner, then, under Privacy, tap Apps and Oura.
  • Steps or calories counted twice, or missing? When several sources send the same kind of data, Apple Health uses the one at the top of its list. In the Health app, tap Browse, Activity and Steps, scroll down to Data Sources & Access, tap Edit and drag Oura to the top.
  • Still not in Forta? Pull down on Forta’s Workouts list to refresh it. If the workout is in Apple Health but not in Forta, check that Forta may read workouts: in the Health app, tap your profile picture in the upper corner, then, under Privacy, tap Apps and Forta, and turn on Workouts.
